Sie sind auch bei der Herstellung von Glasfaser und Isolierung sowie als Bestandteil von Wasch- und Reinigungsmitteln unverzichtbar. Obwohl der Boraxabbau für diese Zwecke unverzichtbar ist, ist es wichtig, seine Gewinnung mit nachhaltigen Verfahren in Einklang zu bringen, um die Umweltbelastung zu minimieren und ein verantwortungsvolles Ressourcenmanagement sicherzustellen.
Dieses Projekt zeigt eine selten angewandte Methode des Borax-Abbaus aus der Luft: In den Seeboden werden Brunnen gebohrt, um die Salzwasserschicht unter der Oberfläche zu erreichen. Pumpen werden verwendet, um die Salzwasserlösung an die Oberfläche zu befördern. Die geförderte Salzlösung wird dann in große Verdunstungsbecken oder -pfannen gepumpt. Diese Becken haben eine große Oberfläche und ermöglichen es der Sonne und der natürlichen Verdunstung, die Mineralien in der Salzlösung zu konzentrieren. Mit der Zeit, wenn das Wasser verdunstet, werden das Borax und andere Mineralien konzentrierter und sehr gesättigte Farben sind auf der Oberfläche sichtbar. In einer Region, die anfällig für Wasserknappheit ist, gibt die erhebliche Wassermenge, die für den Abbauprozess benötigt wird, Anlass zur Sorge über die Erschöpfung der lokalen Wasserquellen. Dies kann sowohl Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt als auch auf die lokalen Gemeinden haben, die von diesen Wasserquellen abhängig sind.

Aluminum Dibond is a composite material. It is 3 mm (1/8”) thick and has 3 layers: two aluminum layers with a platinum white look sandwich a black polyethylene core. The lateral face is black. A photo as a print on aluminum Dibond is a top-grade, robust print with a long lifespan. Due to the low net weight of the backing, photos on aluminum Dibond are ideally suited for large formats.

Print on Hahnemühle 308g Paper
Artworks will be printed on Hahnemühle´s Phto Rag 308 g/qm high quality paper. It has a matte surface and a fine texture, making it versatile without any reflections.
Print on Aluminium Backing
The artwork will be printed on highest quality photo paper and mounted on a aluminium Dibond backing including a UV protective laminate on the front.
Print under Acrylic Glass
A glossy acrylic plate will be added on top of the artwork (including the aluminium backing) which gives it a slightly 3-dimensional look and and additional protection layer.
Framing Options
Choose between a handpicked selection of four different framing options. Each shadow gap frame gives the artwork a unique finish.
